I'm Courtney. I've spent nearly 20 years in special education, both as an SLPA working inside schools and as an advocate sitting beside parents at the table. I've worked with more than 500 families across 30+ states.
I'm also raising a daughter who's medically complex and non-speaking, so I've sat on your side of the table too. I know what it's like to read a plan at midnight and wonder if it's enough.

Yes. A lot of parents use this for a second set of eyes before a big meeting, or in a year when they're handling things on their own.
Do you know the rules in my state?
I've worked with families in more than 30 states. IEPs run on federal law under IDEA, so the core protections are the same everywhere, and I'll flag anything that looks specific to your state.
Things seem okay right now. Is it worth it?
That's the best time to look. It's easier to strengthen a plan before a meeting than to fix one after services get missed. If your gut's been quiet but you want to be sure, this is a low-stakes way to check.
